This was really hard to watch. Hunt thinks the D line is the best he has seen in 20 years, huh? Even with injuries that is a stretch. Maybe it is time to give another QB a go. Colgate has a group of really good receivers. They are being wasted. This team is weak in several areas. I hope last year was not the start of several consecutive bad ones.

I didn't see or hear most of the game but happened to be near a radio toward the end after the game was pretty much decided. At that point Princeton ran off a 65 or 70 yard run through our defense; it sounded like our players had just given up according to the play-by-play. If so this is a new low for a 'Gate team. We (used to) pride ourselves on putting forth a solid effort for 60 minutes - even when losing - so I just don't understand what's going through the heads on this team. Time for an attitude check?

Melville was 25/42 for 318. Greenawalt was 5/92; Quazza was 7/88 and Third was 4/78. Over half of our plays were passing plays. We couldn't run on Princeton. That and our defense plays too soft in the secondary and we can't even tackle a problem effectively. Special teams has gone way downhill. Punting is the only bright spot.

Coming into this year I was optimistic. Our entire starting offense was back, special teams were on an impressive upswing and the defense, especially the secondary was promising. Scholarships aren't going to help if we keep recruiting the same type student/athlete as we did prior to scholarships since all we'd be changing is the terminology of the aid. Except for Fordham, the rest of the PL is as mediocre as we are, so doing well against them is no reason for optimism.

The QB went 25 for 42 for 318 yards with a TD and made some really nice moves to gain extra yards running the ball.

Would imagine the team would have done just fine if everyone played as well as he did.

Add the missed chip shot FG's and the extra point (they would have kicked instead of chasing points) and the offense scores 27 points. That will win a lot of games.

Maddaluna and Greenawalt had 9 catches for 170 yards at the half. They would finish with those stats.

Russell played well. Got a lot of yards after he was hit.

Princeton is really smart how they quickly run the ball up the middle after a big play. Colgate missed so many tackles on these plays--almost like they were still idling as the ballcarrier came running towards them.

Princeton owned the line of scrimmage. Especially when passing the ball. QB had so much time. Even when Colgate brought extra guys.

Colgate seems to be rotating more guys on the DL. Freshman Fell was in there a bunch.

As for the kicking game, the last FG was a bad snap and then a bad hold. Kicker didn't have a chance with the ball on its side as he kicked it. Colgate is 2-8 on FG's this year with a long of 27. Half of the season is over. The team is undefeated in league play. Need the kickers to start thinking of it as if they are now playing the back nine. It's a whole new season. Lots of chances for kicking highlights to come.

When it comes to athletic scholarships, the Ivy League has had them for years. They have more athletic scholarships than any other schools in the country (they just call them something else because they are smart and image-conscious). The PL got played by them and now schools like Colgate are playing catch up.

Colgate was in this game in the 4th. Missed a kick short FG with 13 minutes left that would have put them down by a score--and they would have had momentum.

This is a game they could have won.

They can win the rest of the games they play and have a great season. They can also lose any of these games.
Hope these guys put it together and figure it out.

Go 'gate!

Who evaluates the football program?

Hey Gate Raider! Its amazing what a football authority you think you are. I guess you haven't got the point that the majority of the people that read this forum are sick and tired of yours and the other negative posts on here. Your constant smearing of the character of the coaches and players is deplorable. I know the word Disgrace for a topic headline, wasn't ours, but that word should have no place on this board when talking about the Colgate Coaches and players. You and everybody else should ashamed!
