In reply to: wondered, cause it's getting real boring on here 's message, "do you think the voy boards are finally fading out? Are people fed up with them, or are they just too old fashioned any more? Is it because too much of it is nasty and bashing?" on 02:27:16 10/09/12 Tue

Then it became a safe haven for people who were upset and wanted to vent. I've been targeted every time I have competed. Even with a thick skin, it has been difficult to hear or read about how I am apparently someone I never wanted to be nor thought I was. Aloof, cold, a chaser-not who I am to those who know me. So, in my experience, what started as a place for help and info, became a place for insinuations and lies and not just about me. I found so much junk and lies about others I have gotten to really know. And for me and other pageant friends-we turn it off. Even if the negativity is about someone else you have never met, it still sinks in and for me, makes pageants overall seem lowlife and dark. I tell others to turn it off if competing and I stay off unless I am babysitting it for someone else who is competing as there is the fear judges will read the junk and believe it. You break the habit and spend time getting help from other resources.

Lovely comment above. I am in complete agreement. I, too, compete often, and have been a victim of slander and nasty bashing. I don't know why, unless there is jealousy or some other agenda. I adore pageants, adore the friends I"ve made. clickconcerned03:05:10 10/14/12 Sun
