Um, no. There aren't "lots of issues still there." The new director is turning a lot of things around. The only ones still bashing this pageant are the sore losers that didn't take home a crown. Who else would put that much energy into hating? (NT) -- The issues exist only with the ones that want to keep the pot stirred. You lost. Then lets give the new owner a chance and see how it goes. We need to stop hating AA because of a bad past, and see how the new pageant does this year. It's a decent title, had a good reputation once, even some big names, but that was wiped out with bad directorship. It's in January, so we'll see. Michelle is not Melissa's puppet, and I don't believe that she sent out any hateful e-mails. She is a very nice person. There was a lot of ugliness that went on after the last AA pageant by some Geriatric Mean Girls who didn't win. Get a better wardrobe and work on your interview instead of coming on here and bashing. Either compete in the next AA pageant, or move on. But seriously, some of you who didn't win crowns at that last AA pageant really need to step up your game. As par for the course, a couple of queens and the director bullies, calls them losers, etc. From what I recall, Melissa and Michelle worked hand in hand for years. The ugliness after that last pageant was taken to the extremes. It went on for months, and the comments were the nastiest I've seen. As a reigning queen, I didn't appreciate the ugliness. I had done the pageant once before and didn't win, so when I did win last year I was so excited. Then, I read all of the ugliness on these boards. I had seen ugliness before, but NEVER to that degree. In spite of all the ugliness, I did have a good year, but that's because I'm a very determined person, and I realized that, in the end, the only person I could control is myself. and I did the same. But it was downright nasty, all because of a poorly organized pageant. The queens got harassed and it wasn't their fault the thing was awful. They all had to keep their chins up and smile, while the world was bashing their win. This program once had great prestige and was a highly competitive title, but it went to the dogs.
