The next target was a leggy female of a whitish cream hue, sans tailblade. The trio eyed her, then decided that she probably didn't witness their last target's swift fate.

Kemeru shot out again, dancing amongst the boughs before she could close with the larger enemy and spook her into leaping into the air. Kem followed, met the other briefly mid-air, and tusseled. Only shallowly wounded, she fell back, and the target twisted in preparation of landing on a branch below her. This time, Miteli played second-attacker in the trap, sprinting out along the bough and leaping to crash into the falling tan, scrapping furiously with some rather low blows before she pushed away from him. Unscathed, the striped faded into the background as the tan shakily landed farther out on the same branch. Ajiki appeared from the shadows, hooked his heavy blade into her hamstrings, and immobilized the speedy female. She crumpled to the branch, unable to walk, as he, too, faded into the shadows again.

They regrouped, hardly out of breath, and Miteli tossed his scruffy muzzle over li'fai's shoulder. "Another," he whispered near-silently, darkened eyes falling upon a racing black...
