Subject: Which would be why they call him weird Al. ;)
In reply to: Elygan 's message, "'Runnin, runnin, runnin, like a constipated weiner dog...' --Weird Al" on 18:06:29 04/25/03 Fri

Tew decides it's time for a sermon-- er, lesson. With a hearty slap of blade against bark to show his approval of Sar's quick learning, the bright male ignores the tree-scramble and rockets up into the canopy, using calculated leverage to send his lean form catapulting up... up... and out of the canopy. Stretching out long legs in a flying arc over the treetops, the young male lets out a gleeful warble before he plunges into the leafy foliage again. Missing several semi-thick branches and carefully fending off the smaller, more pliable boughs with his foreclaws, Tew finally hits a sturdy branch running, having put himself a little ahead of Jurama with that insane move. Chuckling at his own audacity -he could've easily broken a leg or his neck with that leap- the tan darts forward, matching speed to Jurama and mimicking the male's every move. He's only doing this so that his words will float back to his students, disliking telepathy unless absolutely necessary.

"As tans, we have the least endurance of the breeds, but we also recover the swiftest from exhaustion and wounds. You are branded with the expectation of great speeds, but most tans don't ever push themselves as you're doing now. All of you, at some point today, have passed 200 mph for more than thirty seconds. In and of itself, this labels you exceptional to the majority of Korats. To me, it labels you as students in need of more training!" Tew's high-pitched laugh rolls back on the wind of his own speed. "You're all doing very well. Try to concentrate not only on speed but agility. Use your wits to catch Jurama before you all collapse. Don't work against the trees - use them to your advantage. A tan's sprinting power is amazing, but so is leaping power. Ricocheting works very well."

Tew sends a robin's-egg-blue glance at Jurama, grinning brightly at the tiring male. Deciding to split off and stop matching the male's maneuvers and speed, Tew bounds off, nearly bashes his skull in against a tree bough that he didn't notice, and -laughing at himself again- keeps pace with the racers in general. Very pleased with their progress so far, it's all the vivid gold Korat can do to grin and not continually holler encouragements. He doesn't need to distract them, after all! But he can't help himself and adds cheerfully, "I've not gone past 300 mph today myself, and by the end of your training, you'll be able to surpass that speed as well! I've not had a student yet who couldn't!"
