I just read that you guys had to go and make your own paddles. I like woodworking with dad and we done some stuff in scouts but must be weird like to make a paddle you know could be used to spank your butt! I'd be trying to find a nice soft piece of wood or maybe one that would break easy. HaHa. and I'd sand it real good. any of those paddles got used yet? i hope not. i've got the paddle at school and from a friends dad but not at hope. i hope dad don't make us paddles. i do sometimes get it with a brush and after one of dad's hand spanking it feel like my butt has exploded with fire. brush hurts bad! i bet those paddles will be bad too. hope it don't have to happen. stay good and write back when you can. We asked if we could use balsa wood (the wood they make those cheap wood airplanes from; it is very light and soft), but Dad already bought the wood and it was roughly cut the right size when we got there. It is real wood- oak- not balsa. So far, no one has been spanked with the paddles. We are kind of scared of them, so we are being careful, an so far it's worked. Right. He did give us a, "Nice try," though. All the paddles look the same. None of them have any holes, except for one at the handle on me of them, so that a chain can go through for them to hang on the back of the doorknob, or, hang on the wall. It was our choice which to use. Dad said we had to have it in one place or the other. We couldn't hide it in a drawer. Also, there is a belt in every closet, "if it's needed." Gulp. The paddles do look nice. Staying where they are, that is! My brothers said when they are lying on the bed waiting to warm a butt, it doesn't look nice at all- only scary! We did have to either have it on the wall or hanging on the doorknob- our choice. Most of us picked the doorknob option. There is also a belt hanging in each closet, too, "just in case." Man, the belt is a KILLER! We have a family meeting tonight. Dad said it is about all the "repeat offending" that we've been doing. Dad said that he is getting tired of spanking us for something and having us do the same thing again very soon afterwards. He said that he had a way to fix that. Well, Mom came to the park to look for me about an hour later. I was talking to some other friends when she found us. Mom was real mad that I disobeyed her and she brought the paddle with her. She marched my butt over to a park bench and told me bend over! She gave me a paddling right in front of my two friends -- I think it was 6 swats but it wasn't bare bottom! Most cowboys spank their kids so we all know that the others get spanked too so it's not as embarasing. Usually though they get taken to their motorhomes to get spanked. Usually, it is when we are with folks who are very close friends with our family that we might get a little crazy, but our parents have mostly just given us the "when you get home...." line- thankfully!
