Subject: Church Spankings Author: Chris [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 16:09:19 08/19/12 Sun Two of my friends got in trouble in church today. I wasn't sitting with them or I'd probably be in trouble too. They was talking and laughing during church. The Pastor had to stop and tell them both to settle down. Then he looked at all the parents there and said "we have one of the school paddles back in the Sunday school office if you parents ever need it." It got real quiet then. A few minutes later, my friends' Dad got up and took the boy and girl to the back. I think they both got a spanking. When they came back in, their eyes were real red. I seen that paddle in the Sunday school office before but its not used much now. A few of the older Sunday school teachers still paddle the boys in the jr. high class for talking sometimes. One teacher especially, Mrs. M., used to paddle someone nearly every week. She never spanked me, though. What would happen to you if you got in trouble in church? I was being noisy and the minister called me down from the pulpit and asked me to be quiet. I could tell Mom and Dad were looking for a hole to crawl in and I was too. When Dad got me home, he spanked me. I feel like, if I ever am called to minister to a church that there would be a better way to handle this than embarrassing the kid.
