I need to apologize for a recent error in my judgement. It is not the first and it will not be the last. As you know if you have read the information at the top of the page, there are several posting guidelines here and it falls to me to try and moderate those guidelines. Of course that involves judgement calls at times. Recently, there was a post to this thread that was, I believe, well-intentioned but written in such a way that it might have come across, depending on one's interpretation, as not being supportive or respectful. I initially allowed that post. Additional posts followed that also raised some concerns. I attempted to use the posts as a "teaching moment" so that we might practice discussing items about which we have different opinions in a respectful and supportive manner. But that can be a really hard thing to do and is probably too much to expect from even so mature and thoughtful a group as the kids that post here. This was my error. It became clear to me that the only recourse to avoid any more damage was to remove all the posts that were potentially controversial. Which I did. I did leave one post from Michael that I will edit soon because it only referred to the posts a little bit.

To all who were upset, hurt, or angered by these posts or my removal of them, I am deeply sorry. I apologize as well for having to remove the posts that you spent time thinking about and writing. Many of your words were very good indeed and I am sad that the forum will not get to read them.

I hope that you will forgive my error in judgment and the subsequent action that I took. I will try to do a better job in the future. You see, everyone can learn from their mistakes! If there is anything that I can do to make amends to you personally, please let me know.

If you continue to have concerns about what occurred please talk with your parents/caregivers or other trusted adults.
