Subject: Things are kind of bad here now Author: Max [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 00:08:25 09/29/12 Sat Hi everybody. Sorry I've not been here for a while, but I got in some trouble and couldn't use the computer except for shcool stuff. It wasn't like what happend with Marcus, Mom and Dad just thought I was spending too much time playing on the computer, and not enough time on school work. Things are kind of bad around here now. Last week Marcus and my Dad got in a big fight, because Marcus has been backtalking a lot lately. Last week Marcus backtalked Dad again, and Dad told him he was going to get a spanking and tried to grab hold of Marcus, and Marcus jerked away from my Dad and called him a bad name, and Dad slapped Marcus across the face really hard. I was doing my homework, and I saw the whole thing, Mom was downstairs. It got real quiet for a second or two then my Dad started trying to say he was sorry, but Marcus just looked at him and told my Dad he hated him, and ran up stairs. Mom came running up and I was crying and Dad was just kind of standing their with a funny look on his face. Mom asked Dad what happend, and when he told her she got this really mad look, and told me to go to my room. When I got up there, Marcus was sitting on his bunk bed, but he wasn't crying or anything, he just looked MAD. I tried to talk to him, and he just told me to leave him alone in a real mean voice, and that got me to crying again, and when I started crying, Marcus started and I went over and sat with him and he hugged up on me and we both cryed for a long time. Mom and Dad were downstairs yelling at each other for a while, then the front door slammed real loud. Me and Marcus didn't know what to do, so we just sat there and hugged each other. Pretty soon, Mom came in and sat with us. She looked at Marcus' face and it was still pretty red, and you could still see Dad's finger marks on his cheek. Mom hugged Marcus real hard and told him she was sorry for what Dad did, and that she would never let him do it again. She also told him the next time she heard him backtalk an grownup again she was going to give him a spanking he would never forget. Mom said Dad was going to spend the night with a friend so everybody could cool off. That was last Sat. Dad came back home the next day, but things are just not the same anymore. Marcus won't hardly talk to Dad at all except if Dad asks him a questions and then Marcus just gives one word answers. Dad sat Marcus down and tried to talk to him, but Marcus wouldn't talk. Mom and Dad act like there mad at each other, and Marcus told me he will never forgive Dad for hitting him in the face like that. I'm real worried about all of them. Look, you have a good Dad, he just make a quick mistake. He should not have slapped Marcus but Marcus should not have cussed your Dad. Marcus is not the first nor will he be the last kid to get a smack in the mouth. Parents disagree and they fight. It happens. They are human and they get mad at stuff and at each other. You have good parents who love each other. They will get through this. I am not going to say a lot about Marcus. Let's just say I know what he is doing and he needs to stop. It is called passive-aggressive attitude and I am the king of it. Tell him he is not allowed to copy me. Marcus was shocked and hurt and angry - that is all normal. Your Dad made a mistake but so did Marcus. Tell him I said to drop the attitude and go for a long time with your Dad and work it out. Max, they still love each other, it is just still a tender issue. It is time to work it out and close it. Marcus also has another issue that is solely related to the fact that he is thirteen. I will say no more, ask your Dad to explain. Once Marcus and your Dad make up, things will calm down with your parents. Max, I know your Dad will never slap you or Marcus again. This is going to sound really weird but I know what will help Marcus and your Dad. Marcus still needs his spanking. He has not yet been punished for last week (face slap considered) and now he is doing all of the cold-shoulder stuff. It would help if Marcus would see this and go ask for his spanking. But, your Dad is just gonna have to do it. After he wears Marcus out (the right way) it will give Marcus a good cry to let it out and then he and your Dad can talk it out. And, when that happens- everyone suffers! The NFL Referee strike, and what is happening in your house between your Dad and Marcus is an example of that! My Dad sometimes says some cool stuff. One of those is is: "The worst thing in the world to happen is NO COMMUNICATION!" Max, encourage your brother to talk to your Dad. And, encourage your Dad to talk to Marcus. I think your brother and your father just need time to chill. I don't know you guys but I know when I get mad at my parents I need time to cool off sometimes. It really helps. I think it will help your brother too. I guess I should say who I am. I'm Sean, Taylor, Kevin and Shannons cousin. I'm 11 and I'm in the 6th grade. I have a 12 year old sister Rachael. Rage is not alien to young men, especially when they feel they are not receiving the respect to which they are due. I think this is simply part of what it means to reach the teen years for many people. Situations like this are part of the reason why so many people just phase out paddling at this age.
