Do you get an additional punishment with your spanking?

Up until two years ago, my brothers and I did not but, Mom and Dad realized we were not totally respecting the spanking and, so for most issues, unless minor, an additional punishment was given. This was something like loss of a privilege, grounding, extra chores, early to bed, or a write off. Mostly for me,it was getting grounded. So, I would get a spanking and then I would be grounded. I hated it.

My brothers and I talked with our parents and, surprisingly, grounding is off of the table. Additional punishments still happen but they are now mostly write-offs (long intense write-offs) and privilege loss. Like, after my last one, I also lost driving for a week.

I am just curious.

Makes sense now that you say that, I had just never heard it called that but I should of figured it out.

I had to do that at school once in fifth grade and it was horrible. I had to stay in every recess until I was done. It took two days, but I don't even remember now how many sentences I had to write. I'm glad my parents don't do that now. Hope they don't read this because maybe they just didn't think of it.

Right now we do not have any additional punishments added on to spankings. But, my Dad has already taken me aside and told me that in September we will have a family meeting. He is going to bring in 4 different types of groundings, early bed times, write-offs and extra chores as possible additional punishments. He won't use all of these, and he won't always use them, but these are choices. At first, I thought that this wouldn't be good.

But, someone helped me to begin to understand that maybe this will stop all the spankings that are done for repeat offenses.If it will do that, I think it might be okay. I am getting real tired of all the spankings every day at our house. Every time there is a spanking, I try to leave the house.

We just get spankings and that's it. But that is plenty for sure! When we get in trouble for stuff mostly mom or dad will just talk to us about it. We also write it down on a big calender for the month with dry erase markers. Me and my brother each have a calendar we write stuff on. We also write down good stuff we do like at school or cub scouts or church or sports or helping mom and dad. The first Sunday of each month we get our calendars and meet with dad to talk about it. After talking dad gives us a spanking. If we got in trouble lots and there is not much good stuff then we might also get some spanking with a hairbrush. That hurts bad.

Other times we only get spankings like for big stuff fighting or leaving without telling where we are going or backtalk and not doing what we was told to do. Those spankings dont happen too much.

Levi I hope it does stop some of the spankings every day.
