Subject: I've noticed among several State Queens the trend of having a goal of having at least one appearance in every county of their respective states. Has there ever been a Miss America that visited all 50 states during her reign? If not, who came the closest?

I think it is great if they set that goal because it gives them something to strive for. However, it is difficult to get paid appearances in every county so there has to be money for travel and they have to have a reason to go. School visits are the easiest. Most schools will let Miss State come speak to an assembly or classrooms. (NT)No name

Since Rhode Island only has 5 counties, that would be easily accomplished. So visiting all 39 cities and towns would probably be a better goal to shoot for. (NT)Anon
