Alright, I truly don’t have a dog in this fight, but I’ve got to get this off my chest and see if anyone else feels the same. It strikes me as really odd that Emma didn’t assume the role of Miss Alabama after Abbie won Miss America. It’s a well-known expectation—often explicitly stated—that the first runner-up steps into the role if the winner advances. So why didn’t that happen here?

Did she decline? Was she somehow allowed to opt out? Either way, it feels like a major deviation from protocol—and one that hasn’t been explained. And now, it looks like the crown is just going to be handed to her tonight?

I watched talent last night, and frankly, Emma’s performance didn’t stand out to me at all. I had the fiddle player, the pianist, and the “I Dreamed a Dream” vocalist all ranked above her. If we’re truly judging on merit, this doesn’t add up.

Honestly, if I were one of the other candidates, I’d be incredibly discouraged. This all feels way too calculated and political—and not in the spirit of what this competition is supposed to stand for.

Nobody HAS to take the title. If the first runner ip declines it would go to the next person in line. I assume Alabama just chose not to crown anyone. (NT)No name
