Subject: That is so interesting. They could wear something different for crowning than they wore for competition? Anyone know the history on that?

I think it just depended on the year. Off the top of my head, I can think of 4 Miss Americas that were crowned in a different gown than what they wore in competition. They are Debbie Maffet, Vanessa Williams, Carolyn Sapp and Leanza Cornett. (NT)No name
