Subject: There was some effort to get a preliminary system started in Michigan. A woman that wanted to start a Miss Boat Town USA pageant in Detroit contacted me to possibly judge

 At the time anything "Detroit"-related was taken as a title and girls that wanted that title couldn't get it. Sadly the pageant never materialized
