For those not yet born or pageant fans who want to see the good ol' day of great Miss USA pageant telecasts, see the 1982 Miss USA show (video link below) that aired exactly 44 years ago on Thursday, May 13, 1982 on CBS from Biloxi, Mississippi (which hosted Miss USA from 1979-to-1982)

It was during this pageant 44 years ago tonight that Arkansas got its first (and still only) Miss USA winner in Terri Lea Utley of Cabot, Arkansas who would later place fourth runner-up at the 1982 Miss Universe pageant in Lima Peru in July 1982.

To this day, Terri remains as one of the "best Miss USA titleholders" ever in a variety of Miss USA fan favorite polls.

Wonder if Terri will attend this year's Miss USA pageant in August in honor of the 75th year anniversary in Miami. It would be wonderful to see Terri again. Happy 44th Miss USA anniversary today to Terri and all of the contestants from that year's Miss USA show.

Oh Terri was the best, and such an unexpected winner--until you watched the entire Miss USA show, and she had a great personality and nice natural poise during swimsuit and evening gown (which was brown and not terribly embellished, another unique thing about her). I agree Terri has been on many online Miss USA fan-favorite lists.Hope we see her at Miss USA in August---not that we know if it will be on tv or not.
