Subject: The new interview wear “suggestions” (rules) telling girls to wear neutrals has me BORED. Their reasoning of ‘like what you’d wear at a real interview’ perpetuates that women can’t wear bold colors or outfits and still be taken seriously or worthy of the same respect of their counterparts. Requiring neutrals in a space where women THRIVE in color and standing out is pushing a narrative of conforming to what is ‘comfortable’ and digestible. This is a pageant, interview wear is supposed to be elevated and over the top. Now you can’t tell the girls apart and no one is memorable.
