Subject: Because I think up to that point people were caught up in the whole fairy tale aspect of the pageant. It was like throwing a cold bucket of water on the fantasy. Face it, would we all have been as invested in Cinderella if she had said her main reason for wanting to go to the ball was to get out of a few hours of housework and hook up with some hot royal guy? Probably not......
