Subject: Hmmm.....maybe the Miss America winners of the Vietnam war era, early 1970s, contracted a form of agent orange disease. Other than Leanza Cornett (who died of a fall in her kitchen in October 2020) any Miss America died of accidents, shootings, car/vehicle/airplane crashes, or any sort of not sickness deaths?

In reply to: 's message, "Yeah, I realize that, however, it just seems that both Phyllis and Pamela died relatively young. Actually, it seems that a lot of the contestants involved in the 1970 pageant died very young. That particular class has a very high death rate. Pam Eldred would also be counted among them because she was the reigning queen. I wonder if some health hazard existed that year that lead to them contracting various fatal illnesses over the years? It's a similar situation to that John Wayne movie that shot in Nevada, and years later most everyone involved contracted cancer." on 15:43:06 10/09/25 Thu

Actually, Miss America seems to have been rather lucky. Most have lived pretty long lives and died of natural causes. I know of at least one Miss Universe who died in a plane crash. Poor Leanza, freak accident. (NT)No name
