OSQ is a very random question on stage in front of an audience with the nerves of the title on the line. Interview is private, based primarily on paperwork and the job of being Miss State, all of which she was likely prepared for. I’ve seen girls win prelim talent and blow OSQ due to stage induced nervousness. Further, if a contestant did decent in interview, is likeable and wins 2 prelims, then the judges are going to give her a higher composite score, which is 30% of the score. Take that composite, add it to final night high scores in EV and Talent that 90% total will over come a mediocre 10% OSQ. Once in the 5, it’s all based on who the judges want. This is the way it should be and the way it should always have been. This is the only way that the audience can hear about the contestant's CSI and get a feeling for the contestant's committment to her cause.
