 the portal appears out of any shadow at any time. it origionated in ashavar a few months ago.... the first time we saw it there, we discarded it as a passing nuisance. when it started taking people, we decided to check into it.... the spirit energy in ashavar is very high, so the spirits would allways whisper the name of a person through the wind near evening. and in the morning, the person would be gone. the few times that we have gotten to them, they were allready being swallowed by the portal. what it does.... it takes them to a sort of zero world for a few days, then drops them off in a fountain at the palace in ashavar. the problem is, when they re-appear, they are hollow and empty.... they cant talk, move, respond to anything..... after a few days, they start walking around, but they are still empty..... none of them have recovered. they wander around the forests, and then most of them just vanish....
