Subject: Esther Sarmiento of Barangay Quirino, Tagudin, RIP

Esther Sarmiento passed away peacefully on May 7, 2014 in Tagudin, Ilocos Sur. She was the wife of the late retired teacher Claudio Sarmiento of Barangay Quirino. Ester and Claudio immigrated to the U.S. in the eary 1970’s along with their children. They were part of the founding members of the Tagudinians of Northern California. After retirement in the United States, Claudio and Ester went back to the Philippines. Ester is survived by her 9 children and her grandchildren. Esther was the mother of Sammy Sarmiento who in the past, served as a president of the Tagudinians of Northern California.

Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace.

Nang Esther was one of our late mother's best friends and kumadres. Both Nang Esther and Tang Claudio were very close to our parents (Nelly and Selmo Valdez).
