Is it or has the system leaked triggering the low-pressure cut off switch? I just got mine converted and charged for $140. You can use all of the old R-12 components if still good. I would shop around check into ebay periodically for used R-12 comp's or get a sanden comps for $400 new and have it installed. With the comp being bad your in for some money unfortunately. If you love your car like I do then it's worth it. I hoped this helped at least a litte and good luck man.
