Subject: steering rack removal/install

havin a little trouble removing it. didnt try all too hard, but figured i'd ask since i'm done for today.

i removed the bottom bolt on the universal joint, and i loosened the top one. took the two bolts that hold the steering rack on the car. now what? there doesnt seam to be much room to pull it out. do i have to bend the tabs down where the steering rack is held to the car? or is there a way to get the universal joint to move upwards so i can detach it from the steering rack?
