K&N Air filter intake kits????false advertising????

Why is it that everyone saids theres no gain with this mod but in the ads you see up to 22 hp and every pic of an bmw in magazines people have it, If it dont give you power then what the hell would you get it for looks? if anyone has the real scoop let me in thanks!
