Subject: Gonna shave the rear spring pads, any thoughts?

After lowering my car (H&R Sports and Bilsteins), I like the front (could be a LITTLE lower, but I can't do anything about it), but the rear is almost just as high as a stock 325e I parked next to. Granted, it MAY settle a 1/4 of an inch or so, I'd really like to get it an inch or so lower. My car looks like an Echo.

I measured my lower rear spring pads and they're like 8-9mm. I ordered 5mm pads from the dealer and I'll pick them up whenever I have time. That should get me like another 6mm or so lower (if the springs are exactly halfway between the wheel and the trailing arm mounts). I'd like to try and shave the upper spring pads too. I have a grinding machine that can do it, and I want to take off 2-3mm off of them. I guess it MIGHT be a LITTLE stiffer, but I wouldn't mind. You guys think it's a bad idea?

I only have very little negative camber in the rear as of right now, so that is not an issue.

Pics are coming as soon as I upload them.

Bill
