In fact if it wasn't for the pleasure of driving (and taking care of from time to time;) I don't even think I would want a BMW. For transportation only it is not even very convenient where I live (gas price + traffic and parking problems+taxes). Still there is a feeling of liberty knowing that you can go (almost) anywhere and anytime you want, the way you choose it.
These things are a lot more important to me than having n houses or n cars, and not being able to enjoy them, because of a 12 hours daily program, for example. When something holds you down you shouldn't be afraid to drop it with little regrets...
