Subject: Source for SuperTrapp mufflers?

Glad I found you guys...I was in serious BEN withdrawal there for a minute.

For those of you who remember, I had smashed my car up at Le Circuit Mont Tremblant in May. Anyway, it's just about ready to go. The thing is, the muffler was in pretty bad shape to begin with and now it's pretty much shot. I was considering upgrading to a Supersprint system, but I was put off by the price (about $450 US for the 318is), so I've been looking at alternatives.

I noticed lots of Porsches and one 4-cylinder Z3 running SuperTrapp exhausts. This seems like a good deal, considering the units sell for about $175 US including a bunch of discs and the endpiece. I figured a local muffler shop could bend up some tubing without much trouble. This would come in at about half the price of the SuperSprint system with the added advantage of some tunability.

What do you think? Any ideas about what diameter would be appropriate? (The one M44 powered Z3 I've seen was running a single 3 inch can, but they come in other sizes.) The SuperTrapp website is pretty useless. Any online dealers that you guys know about?

Thanks again,

Emre
