Muffler places like Midas carry generic catalytic converters without the downpiping, unlike BMW/BMW aftermarket cats which come with the downpipes. That's the reason why the cats that BMP or Bavarian Autosport sell cost $350 and the ones Midas sells run about $100.

If your downpipes have a lot of rust and holes in it, then I'd just get the BMW aftermarket cat that include the pipes, otherwise it will get worse when you reweld a generic cat on it.
