Subject: Distributor Cap. Take the fan off?

Hey all.

I was looking at my distributor cap last weekend to see if it needed to be replaced. Although I couldn't get it completely off, I could see that it looks somewhat worn. So I will replace the cap and rotor. But...

In order to get the cap off, do I need to remove the fan, or is there a way around this. That looks like it would be a pain to do. I seem to recall Bentley says to take the fan off.

Any tips?

Thanks in advance as always!

Joe
