I am new to this site and I want to say "Thanks!" to Tami for such a great site! I was reading through some of the other posted messages and came across one that "bothered me". The person (I refuse to mention names--they know who they are and it was several months ago now) naturally assumed that the majority of Loverboy fans are American. Well, that may very well be true as America does have a larger population than Canada. And I have not taken a survey nor a show of hands to determine if it is Canada or the States that have more fans...But I will say this of the Canadian fans....I have been to several of their conerts where Loverboy fans have filled the place to capacity (and then some) right here in their own back yard. They come in all ages--from fans that weren't even born when they hit the big time, to the ones that have been around longer than the band members themselves! They are all there to cheer their favorite band on! To "rock" with them, to "party" with them. These fans are so engergized and so into Loverboy! It's always a rockin' good time with them. And we love our band! So no, maybe Canada can't boast about the fans as far as numbers go, but we have something just as good: heart, soul and loyality when it comes to our number one band. And I believe that the quality of our fans makes up for the quantity that we might be lacking. We are so proud of these Canadian guys who came home with every Juno (that's the Canadian music awards--for our American friends) that they were nominated with back in the early 80's. And we are proud that Loverboy was the band who broke into the International market that helped pave the way for other Canadian bands and musicians, internationally. Yes, they are Canadian and we, the Canadian fans are very proud that we can call them Canadian, even if we can't claim "majority fan" rights. Dawna
