Subject: Venting...I think this is an outrage!

Hey guys,
Well I have read some of the older articles Tami has posted and I think Mike said something recently that rings true to me as a fan.

MTV is doing their 20 year celebration and the boys are completely ignored and sidestepped. How many of us (those of us old enough to remember) recollect between 1982 and 1984, you couldn't even get through an entire MTV programming day without seeing at least 5 or 6 Loverboy videos, enter a contest of theirs or even see them in a promo???!!!

Mike had mentioned that they stay unhappy and a little angry that the money machines (record labels) that control MTV and other AOR radio have forgotten THE supergroup from Canada. How many millions did Mike and the boys make for Columbia??? MTV is the same way. Why is it that Bon Jovi still gets prime time attention and those saddlebags with eyes (Rolling Stones) can drip onstage and walk around for 2 hours and get prime attention? I don't get it.

Why is it that Weird Al Yankovic and Huey Lewis already have BTM profiles on VH-1 and we are still waiting on Loverboy to get a storyboard?

The new live album kicks major butt and it is pretty much on all the time coming out loud from the speakers of my Jaguar. Others have heard the album and have said, "Man this stuff is great!" So why is it that the album has not even cracked Billboard 200? Why won't my (awful) AOR stations here in Florida even play a selection? I have called, requested and even begged for them to play at least "Workin'" from the new album. They won't do it.

Why is it cariacatures from the 80's and other has-been 80's music types are still out there, yet legitimate, awesome, power rock and roll that is Loverboy is ignored?

Don't know about any of you, but I intend to boycott anything and everything surrounding MTV 20. (Granted MTV is a little juvenile for my taste anyway) However, I did have some interest in seeing the special to remember that wonderful time when music was good, videos were new and the rock was for real.

Hang in there guys. You have REAL fans out there who will continue to buy every CD, old tape, video, cassette and anything they can find to stay immersed in killer rock and roll.

To hell with MTV!
