The downtown usually noted for the Brazilian and Illegal alien take over is still trying to "revitalize" the downtown. One builder has been toying with this idea for some time now. The latest scheme has been not favorably received by some in our town their brief comments:

Greetings:

Please accept this letter to the Planning Board regarding the petition of 101 Concord Street, Framingham, MA.
This letter is for 11 July 2013 Planning Board meeting. Members of the Framingham Town Meeting, Precinct 14 met and unanimous agreed on these and other concerns. We believe a good development is both feasible and desirable in downtown Framingham. This current development as proposed does not met this criteria and will be harmful to neighborhood and urban development."

I'm happy to see that my fellow P14 neighbors feel the same way as I do about the inadequate parking space that the developer request.
In regards to this project working for the best interest of the Master Plan for the town....I have my doubts.
It all depends who the developer allows to take up residences in these apts.
For what I've seen in whom he rents to now these people are made up of a transient type of people with no plans of staying here and contributing positively to downtown revitalization.
Not only that, these type of people tend to bring in more of their "extended"
family with them which will be another problem within itself. But lets not get ahead of ourselves here quite yet.
If you want to see the Downtown be reduced to Social Service heaven then I say go for it, as it already exist in that area now.
But if you want to raise the level of who lives there then you might want to
consider who the developer and the town might be targeting to occupy these
units.
I'm not too hopeful on this one. If not planned accordingly we could make the downtown even worse than it is now.
And for what I can see it's not what most people would call a diverse and upcoming neighborhood.
The first big thing I ask is the developer and the Town might want to promise us that they're not going to allow the illegal alien laborers to hang out in front of the Padaria Bakery as they have been doing for the last 15 years or
so. Not many other towns would allow that to happen. But then again not many towns around us have the problem that we have there.
Seems like Framingham hasn't felt that that situation is a problem. I say it's a huge problem.
Make your demands now or the project will just be another boondoggle for the
town.

My comments:
The downtown is a shit hole. The Illegals took over the majority of the businesses and if you look at some of the building faces and you will see they are slowly crumbling. Some windows on the historical Amsden building has/had boards on their windows. Nice look, pretty favala looking.

Anyway, this guy that wants to do his thing should be asked more questions, like, are you going to allow illegal Immigrants in these apartment? Are you going to allow illegal aliens to run businesses in this project?

It would be nice to see an effort to STOP the Illegals from taking over these apartments and creating more of a blight downtown. The Brazilians will be be having MANY people living in these apartments, they will be Illegal, transient, some criminals, sexual predators and drug sellers. Am I dreaming here? Let's see what happens. They already turned the town into a little favala, they aren't going to stop.

The town has refused to take the Illegal immigrant problem seriously, it's a big joke to them. The border patrol are keeping these people out of our country, the Selectmen have refused to ask compliance to new businesses or if they are employed there, are they LEGAL and in compliance with current immigration Laws. Unless you fix the Illegal Immigration problem downtown, the town will never be revitalized.
