I have always found it interesting how others experiences when growing up in families where enema use was common. It is also interesting that my mom and grandma didn't believe in the use of laxatives and suppositories with my older sister and I. Once grandma passed, mom seemed to transition with my 2 younger sisters.

I suspect that the retirement of Dr. Ross had much to do with it. As I outgrew the pediatrician (age 12), his nurse became our family adult doctor's nurse. Our sister's new pediatrician changed the course of digestive interventions.

I was seeing the adult's doctor, and his nurse Marge carried over many of Dr. Ross's suggestions. I had been self administering enemas for quite some time by then. I'm sure mom had figured this out, although she never said much until I was sent by her to buy a new enema bag as the old one had failed while giving my sister enemas prior to a test.

I began to protest, but she threatened to take away privileges if I didn't immediately go to the drug store. She also said, "you know what to buy you've bought them before."
I teased my sister before leaving and mom became angry and shooed me away. She told me I'd be getting an enema if I continued teasing my sister.

The interaction with a cute clerk at the drug store caused me to be embarrassed and I blushed to no end. I ran into her later and she reminded me how embarrassed I became. We dated a bit thereafter.

I had hustled home and mom spent some time clearing my sister's colon for the B.E. she was going to have in the AM. I was later mesmerized by the folding travel syringe hanging up to dry as I bathed.

I'd love to hear other's experiences. I included my e-mail if anyone cares to interact via e-mail or DM over on Zity Biz.
