Gilded scales glistened in the feeble light cast by the dying sun, greedily absorbing the weak rays to make its gold their own. The golden edges clashed with the deep azure that comprised almost the entirety of the dragon's hide, transforming the male into a thing of beauty. Majestic horns swept back from his brow to curve over an arched back adorned with massive leathery wings. Fierce fluorescent green eyes glared balefully beneath that crested brow, though their master held no ill will toward the two dragons he now approached. It had been some time since Azriel had been seen in Desert Illusions, the death of the dragons driving him from his home and from his mate. Now, with whispers of a new queen in his ears, the male had returned to verify these rumors for himself. A surreptitious glance was cast about, his glowing gaze searching for one crimson figure in particular. Azriel had abandoned all he'd held dear, even his heart and soul--Catastrafy. Hollow and empty, he'd returned to claim that integral piece of himself, if she was there to be found. For now, apologies must be made. Crested dome lowered to the sands in a graceful bow to his lead and friend. -Rage, please forgive me for deserting you- he grated, his gravelly voice like pebbles scraping against one another. Eyes shifted as recognition dawned on him. B&C. -My Queen?- the dragon murmured almost questioningly, deciding that this was the moment to discard or verify what he had heard.
