[ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 19:21:58 08/06/13 Tue I attended the judges forum last year (I have judged lots of pageants before, just not Miss GA prelims), so I am a certified judge. My name is on 'the list' and everything. I've emailed lots of directors personally but I still haven't been asked to judge. Can anyone enlighten me on some of the possible reasons why or how to get asked? This may sound weird but I'm just eager to judge a prelim. Go to Forum again this year. Also, go to as many pageants as you can so the ED's get to know you and your qualifications. That way they will remember you when pulling their list for judges. (NT)	Fan	21:33:56 08/06/13 Tue
To begin with, open pageants in GA are required to have 3 out-of-state judges. So that already reduces the opportunities for you to judge. But keep in mind that pageants are not going to invite you if they know little about you. Get to know people and share your philosophy on judging. It's important for a local to know if you are lenient on swimsuit of if you place a lot of emphasis on public service. Some locals want a girl who will make a lot of appearances so if you place importance on that as a judge, then you may be someone they're interested in. Finally be willing to start small judging a teen local or a small local. Once you have a good reputation, invitations to the bigger pageants will follow..
