To begin with, open pageants in GA are required to have 3 out-of-state judges. So that already reduces the opportunities for you to judge. But keep in mind that pageants are not going to invite you if they know little about you. Get to know people and share your philosophy on judging. It's important for a local to know if you are lenient on swimsuit of if you place a lot of emphasis on public service. Some locals want a girl who will make a lot of appearances so if you place importance on that as a judge, then you may be someone they're interested in. Finally be willing to start small judging a teen local or a small local. Once you have a good reputation, invitations to the bigger pageants will follow.. -- Unofficial Miss Georgia (MAO)
