Hey Petedad,

Great hearing from you. Thanks again for telling about
and sharing about the discovery of the Still during
Probition Times.

What would be neat too if that Still was preserved as
part of the history of your area and hid someplace to
be discovered again.

Have you ever been to Pigeon Forge, TN, located just
outside of the Great Smoky Mts. National Park? All of
us have gone there on vacation one time or another.
The Smoky Mts. area awesome to see. At Pigeon Forge
is a tourist attraction gift store with exhibits called
Hillbilly Village. On display there are a couple of real
moonshine stills that were captured back in the mountains
when it was Probition Time there, too. They have a real
large still and a medium size still. They have hillbilly
statues depicting making/manufacturing moonshine. Signs say
these two stills would work today. Care for a "snort" as
they say back in the hills?

Good to hear that your State is off the path or trail and
territory where slavery didn't exist. Slavery is an evil
thing. In school one time in U.S. History we were shown a
DVD of a TV Mini-series called: "Roots" which was very
educational to learn about slavery. It was based on a book
authored by Alex Haley he wrote about his ancestors brought
to America to become slaves. Told some of his relatives
were really mistreated and others treated nice. Depending
on who owned them, etc.

Oh, we saw recently that our US Treasury is going to honor
Harriet Tubman who was a famous Conductor on the Underground Railroad and place her picture on the $20 bill
in a few years. Wonder where Pres. Jackson will go now? Guess everyone should start saving Andy Jackson $20 bills?

Out at family ranch Indian Arrowheads have been found
over the years? WHOW! That is exciting. Lots of Indians
lived around this area, too. Some of our relatives have
found arrowheads, and nearby in a lake an Indian dugout canoe was found in almost perfect condition. It was found
accidentally in the bottom lake mud.

There have been found other Indian artifacts on people's
property of hatchets, knives, animal bones used some
for tools, etc. Also, Indian beads, necklaces, and more.

There were several Indian Villages. It's been documented
that white settlers here "friends" with the Indians, and
even Indian and white children played with one another.
Game was plentiful for everyone to have for food to share.
There is one sad story that was published in the newspaper
in a history column. The area had, and still does in some areas, had rattlesnakes. A little white girl around age 5 got bit by a snake and nobody was able to save her. An
innocent child. Sad that something like this happened.

Over the years when some of us were growing up some of
us were "little savages" we've been told when we were
young. Ha. We guess that could be true. We might not had the red color skin of little Indian boys, but when we
were naughty sometimes it didn't take much for one of our
Moms or Dads to make one of our little white butts as
red color as theirs, but of course that was when we were
being punished for doing something we shouldn't have been
doing. LOL.

WHOW! That is really cool about the 1951 Ford car being found again to want to be used. Is that car fully restored now or is your mechanic friend still working on bringing the car back to life? Will the car need a new paint job or
will the original still be great for show?

That car will have to be in some of the parades you have in your community and car shows, like at Culver's during the
summer months?

Speaking of Car Show, we were looking at the calendar and see roughly only 4 months to June and the Annual Father's Day Car Show held in our area. Those thoughts will take away the Winter Blues.
