I am not sure what happened to the still. Hopefully, it was preserved as part of our history. The still was illegal, but it is still part of history.

Yes. the local daily regional newspaper did publish an article about the discovery of the still.

I doubt the underground railroad operated in our area. The territory our state would eventually be carved out of wasn't organized and open to settlement until 1860. Also, we are off path from the states that had slavery.

The account of finding planks from the Old Post Road was interesting.

Out at the ranch, tucked away are quit a few old arrow heads my ancestors found on the their property over the year, they are interesting to look at too.

I am sure in old buildings, barns and storage buildings across the land there are other artifacts waiting to be discovered. Last year a mechanic friend of mine was working on a car, a 1951 Ford, which was pulled from storage after 50 years. The car was bought new at a local ford dealer and the family drove the car until 1960 when they sold it. The next owner used the car in his implement business until 1966 when he put the car in storage where it sat. The owner passed away and it was his son who final pulled the car from storage and hire my mechanic friend to get it "back on the road". The car is in great shape but needed work to get it running.
