Subject: Ball Games

It has been a while since I last posted a message, so I better get caught up.

Like everyone else I had a great Christmas, at least it started out great. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day were great, lots of family and gifts, but the weather turned bad. Wyatt told you about the bad storm we had and the power outage. Our power went out early Monday morning and didn't get back on until 4:00PM Wednesday. Our house was cold so went to stay with my Grandparents who live about 40 miles away. Their power stayed on.

A friend of mine Grandpa collects vintage VW Beatles and several were damaged when the roof of his storage building collapsed.

We were suppose to have basketball practice Tuesday and Wednesday and play in a tournament Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Because there was now electricity at the school, practice was canceled. The electricity was not restored to the Civic Center where the tourney was to be played until Thursday afternoon, the format of the tournament was changed. Instead of 8 teams 3 games in 3 days, it became 8 team playing 3 games in 2 days. The Civic Center had 2 gyms so both were used and we played two games on Friday. Saturday was a normal schedule.

There was a lot of basketball played, and between games, it was fun walking around watching the other teams play. Our was renamed a "shoot-out."

We finished in third place.

We won our opening round 56-48. I scored 12 points.

We lost our semi-final game 64-61. The game was close, but they were ahead when time ran out. I scored 8 points.

We won the consolation round game for third place 56-48. I scored 9 points.

Last Friday we played a home game and we won 76-48. We scored first and led all the way. all the way. I had my best night scoring ever. I scored 28 points, a personal best for me. I was excited and the coach was happy too. This week my name was in the paper as an Outstanding Performer.

We play twice this week, both Friday (home) and Saturday (away).
