Subject: Having Fun Working At A Minor League Baseball Park

Friday, June 17, 2016

Hi Everyone,
We hope this thread goes through and posts after the forum was
down. Once we found out forum was up and running we tried to
post yesterday June 16 and had some difficulty and threads wouldn't
post...so here we go another try.

We finished up helping Mark's grandpa plant corn and wheat crops
after we returned home from college and finished playing in the
baseball tournament.

We couldn't get summer jobs at the Boys Camp like we had in past
summers. For whatever reason, and they wouldn't tell us why they
they 'can't use you six this year to work at camp' we checked around
to see what was available. Our college baseball coach tipped us off
that the minor league baseball park we have in our region was looking
"HELP" this summer, and we applied and were hired. Our girlfriends
could have worked previous jobs for summer at the Girls Camp but,
told them "no thank you" when they found out we couldn't have our
"old jobs" across the lake so, they applied and were hired, too.

All of us have jobs at the ball park. We work where needed on home Game Days in Public Relations and that includes helping to pass out
Game Programs at gate entrances, entertain spectators between certain innings during the game by asking provided baseball trivia questions
of visitors so they can win prizes, help keep baseball game stats
in radio broadcast booth for broadcasters use, help before and during and after games with grounds crew, help around when needed before
and after games in baseball players' clubhouse and on some Off-Days
when players are having practice days. Some minor league baseball games are broadcast on TV and we could help provide game stats
for those broadcasters, too.

Us guys are fitting in really good with the baseball players, especially
after they found out we play college baseball. On some days when they are practicing some players have "invited" us after their regular practicing is complete to throw the baseball and bat around with them

Some of the assistant coaches are "helping to give pointers" on things.
Could they be watching to see if any of us might be Minor League
Baseball material? They have "checked us out" and learned about what we did playing high school baseball and our college playing, too. (Mark): Sign each of us up to a Minor League Contract to play. We are ready!
We are ready! Sign us up! Each of us can dream, can't we?

The baseball park is within driving distance that we can return
home after evening games are over with, but of course if we
wanted to and if there was a late finish game after midnite or
1 a.m. in the morning we could stay over in the town for the
fun of it. Maybe we will sometime!

Our girlfriends are doing great working too at the ballpark. Of course us guys are looking out for them to make sure no unruly baseball fans take advantage of them, flirt with them unnecessary, etc.

The jobs are going to work out great so we can still have time to
ourselves to attend off-season football weight lifting & conditioning
at our former high school to help prepare us for fall college football
playing. We will be able to attend a one week college football camp,
too.

We'll still have time for summertime swimming, working on
suntans, etc., too! We have time for this forum and all of you
reading this, too! It's going to be a GREAT SUMMER!!

So what do think of our Summertime Jobs?
