I would tell Mieko to ignore what her classmates are saying about her hand. I would tell her that she should try to make friends with her ciassmates and tell them about her hand and say that there is a good reason for it being hurt.
Mieko should stand up to that boy in her class and tell him that if he got hurt and he got treated like that how would he feel.
