All twirlers do it... not just in AZ. I remember last year the Florida message boards were jumping all over their winner for saying she was a 'World Champion' baton twirler... Technically she was a World Champion because the titles at NBTA Nationals say World Open National 2 Baton Winner, etc. She never actually went to Worlds, but technically she wasn't lying. Its just dumb to do it, esp with Meredith competing, who actually IS a National Champion, and has been for years! -- Miss Arizona Message Board

Leave it to the judges to decide if they can the girls are fibbing or what not. I know some of you are bitter that certain girls didn't make it the top 5, but i assure you that the top 5 girls' paperwork didn't get them to the top. The judges obviously loved what they had to offer.
