hi this is nikki, im an ib student in llandrillo collage and i am doing a theory of knowledge essay purely on this quote and to tell you the truth, ii could do with some help, i think that someone can beleive in something like god, and they dont need to know that it is the truth, because nobody looks for evidence to say that god exists, they belive it is and so that is their truth in a way, it is like the quote i think and therefore i am, different people have different beliefs and so tharefore people have different truths, what one person believes to be true may be effected by their age or nationality. for example most people in this country now relies on scientific facts to say something is true or not and without them they think of something as a belief but not their own. Like the quote by anon about telling a man that there are 300 billion stars in the sky and they will belief you, but tell the same man that the bench has wet paint on it and they will have to touch it. so really the question can't be answered i think that the difference between truth and belief is that to belief in something, you have to accept it but for something to be called true you need proof to choose it. A belief is personal and truth is widely known. if you can help me with this send an answer to your site?? nikki
