my head held in limbo by my hands
they feel so cold pressed deep into my cheeks
my sunken eyes stare at the stars in the reflection of these puddles
and even then i cant see them straight
i only see the distorted images of what they are
as if they are too beautiful to be seen in their entirety
i try to move but it is as if im paralyzed
these thoughts have taken me captive
so i watch the stars twist and bend
the lights deception on the smooth mirror of water.
and so it feels for hours
and my mind doesnt quit
keeping my body hostage and my limbs numb
this lack of emotions is liberating
and these stars keep shifting, twisting and contorting into angry shapes
and in this light
i burn the memories of you
