Alara gives an almost depressed laugh at the last statement. "Nothing big? And what is big in your point of view, eh?" She pats the girl's shoulder akwardly. "I can't say much... but it seems to me as if..." She cocks her head, thinking. *I don't know!* *Neither do I* "Well, I'm sorry," she says finally, meaning it. "Thread kills... that's what it does. 'Tis why dragonriders are here. To protect people. But at the cost of our own lives. Your father knew that, and he died saving people from Thread. I can say that 'tisn't your fault that your father died. Some things happen. Thread happened. If you must blame someone, blame Thread. As for your memory... There's nothing anyone can do about it, but I can say that sometimes it is the bad things that stand out most in our minds. There were probably so many more good things than bad things, but 'tis just the bad you remember." Alara blinks, realizing that she was partially choked up herself and that her natural accent had returned for the momment. *By Faranth, did I just make a speech?* *Depends on what you call a speech, really.*
