She grins happily, giving her friend a tremendous hug. Stepping back, she looks in the direction of the other girl's point. "We were worried you wouldn't make it in time. But it seems you came with the life of the gathering." An amused glint lights her face and her smile is a good natured one.

" The boy with the runnerbeast? He's Alarak, my little brother. Little by Turns, only!" She chuckles, pointing out the fact that the youngster was probably a foot or so taller than her. "I'll have you meet him, when it's all said and done, that is. He's here to watch, I think." Something in the glint in her brother's rakish gaze told her otherwise, but she didn't voice that thought.

"That's your sister then? I can tell because she's talking to Kylith. This must be a proud day for her as well. And it's going to start soon?" She clutches at Channa's sleeve, a somehow tremulous grin on her face. "I'm so excited! I can't believe it..." Suddenly her eyes notice Kylith's look toward the runnerbeast and she shakes her head sadly. "Alarak never was one for forethought, but he'll know to keep Essie away from Kylith. Hopefully." A hum wells up in her own throat and she allows it out under her breath, a grin forming to accompany it.
