*Almost surprised by the egg's sudden collapse, the dragon flops into the sand and shards, creeling helplessly. One wing raised and flapping, the other folded and pressed into warm, wet grains, the bronze raises his muzzle and lets out another plaintive cry. Alarmed, the Igen queen bugles and half-rises, tail spraying sand as it twitches. Buoyed by his mother's firm support, the small bronze staggers to his talons, stumbling forward uncertainly, and directly into Mathony. Slipping again, the little dragonet suddenly sits to keep from falling over, and raises his snout to gaze wonderingly at the young man in front of him. M'thony. I am Caseth. You Impress me. No mention is made of food, though the telltale red traces the edges of the hatchling's whirling eyes, for the dragonet is clearly awed by his choice of partner, love radiating from him in almost palpable waves.*
