I can try, I can't promise anything. She cocks her head, searching for an idea, a topic, a diversion, anything. Suddenly, the most simple solution comes to her mind. Sae, ask him something, anything. Go on. She nudges the woman's knee pointedly, meeting her eyes with a stern look.

"All right, all right." Nodding, she looks at T'yin and wracks her brain for a question that she wanted an answer to. Suddenly she brightens and voices the question she was thinking of. "T'yin, I hope this question isn't too terribly personal...but I was wondering what made you decide you wanted to be rider. I know Kalya wants to change Pern, and Channa's following after her sister, but what about you?" Her orchid eyes search him earnestly, curious as to his answer.

I hope that works, Viouth, and it is a good question.
