Looking up and spotting Trogdor, Kavren yelps and dodges aside, swatting at the green lizard. Before he can do much, though, the frentic activity of another egg draws his attention. Ignoring the firelizard, he watches it intently, wondering who it's meant for. Imagine his surprise when, after only a moment of contemplation, the blue heads towards him! And it has to be Kavren; there's no one else nearby, nor behind him, for the teen glances back. Before he can focus on the dragon's color, or any shame or pride attached to it, a strong voice enters his mind, and all thought of colors and ranks vanishes from Kavren's head - forever. All that matters is that he is Notusith's, and Notusith is his.

His dragon's hunger begins to pound through K'vren as he reaches up to scratch the still-damp eyeridges, almost overcome by joy. That same hunger is probably all that saves him from a haze of happiness that could have kept him there petting his dragon for the rest of their life. Then Notusith nudges him gently, repeating the insistent plea, and K'vren smiles a bit guiltily. "Of course, Notusith! Hatching must be hard work," he agrees. "This way!" Turning, he leads his dragon towards the exit. He feels like he's walking on air.
