Subject: Announcement Made!

Do not keep them waiting T'bel, share the news!

Though the Weyrleader's eyes shut only briefly as his dragon's words sounded in his mind, they reopened slowly, calm and deliberate gaze falling across each of the crowded room's celebrants. His broad smile drew closed to a wry arch of a grin, corners of his mouth upturning in a calmed expression of continual joviality. Palms of his hands pressed against the table as T'bel shoved his chair backwards and then rose from it, one arm reaching outwards to squeeze Wessae's hand gently before lowering back to his thigh. He cleared his throat once then began speaking entirely off the cuff -- T'bel was never one for making prepared speeches, and his new position had yet to break him of the habit.

"Dragonriders, Weyrfolk, and Honored Guests, it is my pleasure to welcome you all to the beginning of a new Era for New Isle Weyr and the planet she serves. With the wonderful new partnerships formed today comes a promising future, a Pern rebuilt from her recent traumas, and a Pern forevermore protected from anything the elements could challenge their people with again."

He paused briefly, eyes finding those riders whom he would soon be inviting up to the front of the room.

"Now to begin the celebration, I would like to announce those Riders chosen to take the esteemed positions of Wingleaders within our Weyr. If each could join us at the front table when their name is announced so that Wessae and I could offer our congratulations."

T'bel turned his head towards the side of the room where a tall man dressed in a dark red tunic was speaking with the newest Queenrider of New Isle and two other Riders, "B'nederra, rider of Bronze Kierth."

His gaze next falls upon the younger man standing near Akema, "A'rak, rider of Bronze Kadoth."

Finally he turns towards one of the older riders in the room, and one of the earliest to arrive to the Hatching Feast, "And finally, D'ctor, rider of Bronze Whoth."

T'bel's hands curve and then come together, beginning the congradulatory applause for the three men chosen for the Wingleader position. After a few minutes of the thunderous clapping within the echoing cavern, he raises his hands to signify his continuing speech.

"Each of these men will be given time to choose their own Wingseconds, reporting their descisions to me upon our first meeting. In the meantime, I am happy to announce my own choices for Weyrsecond and Wingsecond. T'gan, rider of Bronze Chuth, has been chosen as the second in command of New Isle. W'ren, rider of Brown Datoth, has been chosen to serve as second in command of my Wing."

Again T'bel begins to applaud for all those Riders chosen today, returning to his seat to both congratulate the five new leaders, and give the floor to Wessae.
